~Caught in a Paris Rain~

Some time in the 1920s, a young American woman went to live with her aunt in Paris for a few months…

it was a wonderful adventure as young women in Paris at that time enjoyed a bit more social freedom…

Before long, she met a handsome Frenchman and fell in love…

together they explored every part of Paris…

their days were filled with art and architecture…

sidewalk cafés and public gardens…

together they danced in romantic interludes through the City of Lights

many love letters were penned between them…

there were endless bouquets of white roses…

evenings at l’Opéra…

and there were kisses at the top of the Eiffel Tower, under the Arc de Triomphe

and at Hotel de Ville..

The day before she left to return home, her lover presented her with

a souvenir view book of Paris…

photos by A. Bourdier

a memory book of the many places they had shared and lived those precious days together…

one last kiss, she turned to go…

and the Paris sky broke…weeping softly its spring showers…

by the time she arrived back at  her Aunt’s, the Souvenir book was soaked through…

with rain…

and tears.

Original pages of photos torn from a Souvenir View Book by Bourdier will soon be available

Maison French Kissed...

complete with the ripples and watermarks…

Jermaine, Do you mind sharing the name and brand of the color of paint used on the walls in the room?

For Sassy and anyone else interested in the paint color, I am currently out of town and will post the color after I get back home and check my color notes. It’s a very soft pale lavender.
